Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a bail bond cost?
In CA, bail bond premiums are regulated and typically set at 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if bail is set at $50,000, the bond premium would be $5,000. This premium is non-refundable and is the fee for our service. We offer payment plans starting as low as 1% down.
How long does it take to get someone out of jail?
The release timeline depends on the facility. At most San Diego jails, the process takes 2-6 hours after we post the bond. Some smaller facilities can process releases in under an hour, while larger county facilities may take longer, especially during busy periods.
Can I get a bail bond with bad credit?
Yes. We do not require credit checks for most bonds. We work with each client individually to find a payment arrangement that fits their financial situation. Collateral options are also available for larger bail amounts.
What happens if the defendant misses a court date?
Missing a court date is serious. The court will issue a bench warrant and the bail bond may be forfeited. If this happens, contact us immediately — we may be able to help get the warrant recalled and the bond reinstated before forfeiture. We also offer free court date reminder services to help prevent this situation.
Do I get my money back after the case is over?
The premium you pay (10% of bail) is a non-refundable fee for the bail bond service. However, if the defendant makes all court appearances, the full bail amount posted by our agency is returned by the court, and any collateral you provided is released back to you.
Can you post bail at any jail in San Diego?
Yes. We post bonds at every jail, detention center, and courthouse in the San Diego metropolitan area, as well as facilities throughout CA. Our agents know the booking procedures at each facility.
What information do I need to get a bail bond?
To start the process, we need: the full legal name of the person in jail, the facility where they're being held, their booking number (if available), and the bail amount. We can often look up booking information if you don't have all the details.
Do you offer bail bonds for immigration cases?
Yes, we handle immigration bonds for individuals detained by ICE. Immigration bonds have different requirements than standard bail bonds, and our agents are experienced with the federal immigration detention process.
